Steelpolis

Steelpolis, coordinated by Raahe Region Technology Centre Ltd., is a centre of expertise for metal industries in the Raahe region. Steelpolis is part of the strong metal cluster in the Bothnian Arc Region (ProMetal) and Multipolis network in the Northern Finland.

Service

Steelpolis offers companies an innovative development environment consisting of:

  • promotion of R&D
  • technology transfer
  • educational services
  • networking of co-operators

Steelpolis gives its assistance to the companies to promote their market oriented functions of development by business-to-business networking.

Steelpolis uses wide co-operative network consisting of local, national and international development operators.

Our own service equipment is located in the Production Studio.

Networking and operations

Raahe Region has a new Strategy of Economic Life in which metal industry and ICT of metal industry are the most important subjects of development. Raahe Region Technology Center Ltd. (RRTC) will follow this policy.

RRTC is a member of Finnish Science Park Associaton (TEKEL). Through this network we can organise wide co-operative projects.

RRTC is part of the Multipolis network. The aim of the "inter-scientific" Multipolis is also through innovations to ensure the competitiveness and growth of trade industries in Northern Finland. Raahe has two organisational members in this network, Steelpolis (Metal) and Softpolis (ICT).

RRTC is coordinator of the network called ProMetal, which consists of three studios, Steelpolis (Raahe), *ELME Studio (Nivala) and *JaloteräsStudio (Tornio). This network has synergic, broad machinery and strong know-how of technological development.

RRTC coordinates ProMetal in *the Finnish Maritime Cluster Program under the name *Raahe Region Competence Center.
